King of Prussia (born 1712) from 1740 until his death in 1786. His political prowess and enlightened attitudes toward religion, learning, and the humanities earned him the sobriquet ‘Frederick the Great.’ Manuscript DS, in French, signed “Frederic,” one page, 6.5 x 3.25, May 13, 1747. Untranslated document neatly signed at the conclusion by Frederick. Double suede matted and framed to an overall size of 11.5 x 14.5. In fine condition, with a vertical fold and a bit of scattered light toning.
